There are over a 100 merit badges that a boy can study and earn in the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). Each badge covers a particular subject or activity area. When boys complete the necessary requirements, they can earn a patch. Each of these merit badges has a corresponding merit badge pamphlet (MBP). This MBP is for the Personal Fitness Merit Badge. This particular badge was created in the 1950s. It is a required merit badge for the Eagle Scout rank, the highest honor in Boy Scouts. The merit badge requires a number of fitness / exercise tests. The manual is used by some of the boys working on the badge & more often by counsellors who pass off the boys' requirements. Other versions & printings of this manual exist prior to & after this 1968 version. The 1968 version has a full photo front cover, but the Ebay picture for this MBP shows a partial photo front cover topped by 2 red stripes & 1 white stripe, which is a characteristic of MBPs published in the 1980s & 1990s.Read full review
